Performing artists are being offered a fantastic opportunity to develop their skills as part of DART (Developing Artists in Rural Touring). A new programme managed by Live & Local with support from Worcestershire County Council, the scheme is designed to develop artists towards performance opportunities within the county and in the wider rural and small-scale touring contexts.
Applications are now open for Stage 1 of the Development Programme. This is centred on DART-Day, in which up to eight artists or groups will have the opportunity to showcase their work to a professional panel and receive feedback, take part in workshops on rural touring and working within Worcestershire, and enjoy informal networking. DART-Day will take place on Wednesday 20 November at Number 8 Community Arts Centre, Pershore.
Performing artists from any artform, including theatre, music, dance and storytelling, are encouraged to apply. The project welcomes applications from artists or groups based in Worcestershire, or those making (or having the capacity to make) work in Worcestershire or for Worcestershire audiences. Go to the website for more information and to apply online: www.developingartistsinruraltouring.wordpress.com. The deadline for applications is Wednesday 28 August at 5pm.
DART has been created with the support of Worcestershire County Council.
