A kick start to celebrate the NEW Autumn season

Earlier this month we held two showcase events to help celebrate what looks set to be another jam packed and exciting Autumn season.

The Live & Local team, and village residents, were joined by our volunteer promoters and local arts officers as well as our funders and councillors from local authorities.  The showcases took place in Marchington Village Hall (Staffordshire) and Bourton, Draycote and Frankton Village Hall (Warwickshire) where audiences enjoyed the highly acclaimed theatre production, The Ragged Trousered Philanthropists, by Townsend Productions.

This stage adaptation of the classic working class novel stars Fine Time Fontayne and Neil Gore and mixes comic-routines such as ‘The Great Money Trick’ with first-class acting and uplifting songs. These evenings created a real buzz of anticipation about the show, and the season ahead.

We want to extend a huge thank you to everyone that came along to both events and help us give the new Live & Local season a fantastic launch. We set out to demonstrate the great range of performances that the scheme can bring to rural venues and given the bubbling enthusiasm at the end of the evenings, The Ragged Trousered Philanthropists really helped us do this!
