‘For One Night Only’ at Hatton Park Village Hall

The Live & Local team headed to Hatton Park in Warwickshire last week for our final season launch showcase event. We were joined by volunteer Promoters, local arts organisations and our funders from local authorities and the Arts Council England, as well as local village residents, to enjoy a performance of For One Night Only by Farnham Maltings .

The show tells the story of Eddie and Bode who arrive in England with big dreams and set off for Covent Garden to find their fame and fortune as street entertainers. But… a failure to understand the railway timetable sends them on a tour of the Home Counties via Banbury and Milton Keynes. In an adventure that includes a night spent in bus shelters, the picking of apples and a triumphant five minutes in Didcot town centre, this is a story about two friends getting by. Performed in the round, the show really captivated the audience with lots of clever participation, infectious energy and inventive use of props. We laughed, smiled and enjoyed every minute!

Hatton Park Village Hall was a perfect venue and we were thrilled to see it packed full with an audience of over 100. Thank you so much to everyone who came out to join us and helped to make it such a special evening!

This event aimed to showcase  just one of the exciting professional shows coming to community venues across Warwickshire this autumn, and there is much more where that came from. Have a look at our website www.liveandlocal.org.uk to find out what is happening in your area.
